MCPE/Bedrock '77 Pontiac Firebird T/A

MCPE/Bedrock '77 Pontiac Firebird T/A

Whether you recognize it from the American action-comedy movie franchise, Smokey and the Bandit, or if you simply love American muscle cars, the second gen, 1977 Firebird T/A is arguably the most iconic Firebird gen out there, and possibly one of the most iconic muscle cars to exist. While performance-wise it wasn’t all that great, being able to produce just about a rather depressing 200bhp from it’s gigantic 6.6l V8 engine, and a top speed of 195 km/h, it was as fast as a shitbox from the mid-80’s (which would be around a decade after it was created). Basically, it wasn’t all that great for an acclaimed muscle/sport car. BUT considering it was created during the Malaise era over in America where fuel was scarce, you’ve gotta appreciate the darn thing. It’s got the looks as well don’t get me wrong, just look at it. All you’ve gotta do now is do a good old LS swap or add turbos to it and you’ve got an American vintage muscle car that might be as good as the other modern day sports cars. Not to mention bragging rights for also owning a car that also looks a hundred times better than 90% of the cars (and sports cars) of today. Pog.

• Car History

"A slanted-front facelift occurred in 1977. Early 1977-built versions were supplied with an off-center scoop. Another production change was that early W72 cars came with the standard 180 hp air cleaner. Pontiac offered the T/A 400 cu in (6.6 L) with a single four-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor RPO W72 rated at 200 bhp (203 PS; 149 kW) at 3,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 325 lb⋅ft (441 N⋅m) at 2,400 rpm, as opposed to the regular 6.6 Litre 400 (RPO L78) rated [...]" - Wikipedia

• How to open the doors & How to open the hood

i) Doors

To OPEN the doors, right click the car and the doors will open. Right click again to get in.
To CLOSE the doors, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.

ii) Hood

To OPEN the hood, right click WHILE shifting/crouching WHEN the doors are closed and the hood will open!
To CLOSE the hood, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.

In a nutshell, the concept is basically;

Right click/hold + Shift/crouch = Close/open the hood and close doors
Right click ONLY = Open doors and to get in car ... (once the car's doors are open)

I've made a video showing how it's done so if you don't understand words, you can check that video out. The car in the video used is my previous Datsun 240z addon which shouldn't be a problem as the concept (animations, door and hood mechanics and sound effects) are the same for this addon (‘77 Firebird).

• Regarding Mobile Revised

Starting this addon, Mobile Revised versions will not have the ability to open the hood. Door Mechanism 2.0 will still be implemented for Mobile Revised versions meaning you can still open and close the doors. This is to help optimize gameplay for Mobile users.

TL;DR: Mobile Revised versions do not have the ability to open/close the hood, but you can still open/close the doors.

• Advanced sounds

In total there are 6 sound effects for the cars. The list are as follows:

Startup sound effect - When the player sits in the car
Driving sound effect - When the player drives the car
Custom car damage sound - When the car is damaged / takes a hit
Door closing sound effect - When the player closes the door
Door opening sound effect - When the player opens the door
Hood closing sound effect - When the player closes the hood

This addon DOES NOT REQUIRE (any type of..) EXPERIMENTAL MODE.

• How to obtain

Method 1: Get their spawn eggs from the Creative Inventory. They are classified as spawn eggs. You can search "Firebird"  without the " for a more convenient way of getting them.

Changelog

• Update 23/9/21

  1. "Acceleration" version as of update 1.17.30 / 23/9/2021 is only useable in updates before 1.17.30 due to a Minecraft bug with a certain function. Will update this log once Mojang fixes the problem.

Installation

• Confused about the download links?

So basically,

Win10 = High speed version, suitable for race track maps. (Minecraft speed of 0.61)

Mobile = Lowered speed version, suitable for small city maps. (Minecraft speed of 0.52)

Mobile Revised = Lowest speed version. Does not have the ability to open the hood. Recommended for mobile users [lag reduction, easier to control](Minecraft speed of 0.39)

Acceleration = Same speed as the Win10 version but has acceleration. (ONLY WORKS FOR VERSIONS BEFORE 1.17.30 DUE TO A BUG)

Note:

1) All the downloads below contain both the Behavior Pack (BP) and the Resource Pack (RP).
